It has always been a passion of mine to own my own pre-school, as of 2008 this became a reality and I haven’t looked back. I work with a strong, enthusiastic team where we all strive to do our best for the children in our care and their families. I bring with me many years of childcare experience and have looked after lots of children, although each child teaches me something special or amazes me with their abilities. Our aim is to offer the children a fun, safe and caring setting where they and their families feel completely at ease and cannot wait to come back the next day.

I have worked in childcare for over 20 years and been a Manager of a setting for over 9 years. I am passionate about children learning and how each individual child develops with our help and support. I shall ensure that we as a setting are continually striving to improve the care we provide to both the children and their families.

I have been at Chavey Down Pre-School since 2009. I have seen the pre-school develop into one which has the children’s welfare and interests at the heart of all we do.

I am the Special Needs Coordinator for the setting and have built a good relationship with the Children’s Development Centre, ensuring any potential development delays are immediately addressed. I am also trained in speech and language issues, enabling the setting to support speech delays and difficulties at all ages.

I use my art and design qualification to support the children developing their creative flair. The more glitter the better!

I enjoy watching the children grow and develop and feel proud that I know I have had a part in this.

Starting this apprenticeship means a lot to me. I feel passionate about working with and supporting children to meet their educational needs and explore their interests and hobbies. I strive to help the children grow though learning and play, meeting developmental milestones and feel fulfilled knowing I have supported them in this journey.

I have 4 children of my own, raising them and watching them grow into confident children helped me find my passion in child care. I am currently completing a level 2 childcare apprenticeship, something that I have always wanted to do.

I am passionate about helping the children not grow and aid them in meeting their developmental milestones, ready to head off to “Big School”.

After working in maternity for 7 years I decided it was time to make the leap to pre-school. Working with children is such a rewarding career choice, watching them learn and grow into the people they will one day become. Being part of that journey is always something I will be proud of.
